The European Research Council (ERC) invites outstanding researchers of any nationality to apply for the ERC Consolidator Grants 2025. This prestigious grant is designed for researchers with 7-12 years of experience post-PhD, to support them in consolidating their own independent research teams or programs. The grant provides up to €2 million in funding, covering direct costs and indirect contributions

Eligibility for the grant is open to researchers of any nationality who have 7-12 years of experience since the completion of their PhD. Applicants must have successfully defended their PhD thesis between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2017. They should demonstrate a strong scientific track record and an excellent research proposal. Both applicants with and without a professorial position are eligible to apply.The European Research Council (ERC) is a key funding body of the European Union, established to support and promote groundbreaking research across all disciplines. Application Process

Internal Procedure for External Candidates and Internal Candidates Without a Professorial Position:
External candidates, and internal candidates without a professorial position, must send a complete CV, publication list, motivation letter, and letters of support from USI professors to the Research Service by the 1st of October 2024 for an internal assessment.

Deadline for Internal Applicants with a Professorial Position:
Internal applicants with a professorial position are invited to send an expression of interest to the Research Service by 4 November 2024.
