If you are a full time undergraduate student from Scotland, are under the age of 25 and from a low income family, you may be eligible for the Young Persons Bursary to help towards your living costs.
The Bursary is a non-repayable form of support. The Bursary is up to £1,750 and is available to all eligible young Scottish students from low income families. You must be eligible for tuition fee support, and studying at an institution in Scotland. The amount you get will depend on your family income.
This bursary replaces part of the loan, so reduces the amount of loan you have to take out. In turn, this will reduce the amount of debt you have when you finish your course. Where you are not eligible for the bursary, your living cost support will be made up entirely of student loan.
