York Global Widening Participation Scholarship at the University of York, UK Established in 1963, The University of York is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of York (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Yorkshire and the Humber. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, The University of York is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of York offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. This 56 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Students from Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Ukraine are eligible to apply.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for an Undergraduate degree in any subject offered by the university
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the given criteria:
  • Three full scholarships are available for secondary/high school students from Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Ukraine.
  • You qualify to apply for this scholarship if:
  • They are currently in secondary education
  • They hold citizenship from any country in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, or Ukraine.
  • They meet our minimum recommended level of English language skills, i.e., CEFR B2, IELTS 5, TOEFL 44+, or Duolingo 75+ (no need for a language exam).
  • They can prove their academic motivation.
  • Without this scholarship, their family’s financial situation would not enable them to participate in the program.
  • This would be their first study abroad experience.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To apply for a place at York, applicants must complete an application through UCAS. After that, they must submit an online application to be considered for a scholarship.
  • Supporting Documents: When applying, applicants need to provide either original or certified copies of documents such as Personal statements, School support letters, transcripts, qualifications, and English language proficiency test results.
  • Admission Requirements: Before applying, applicants must check the country-specific entry requirements to study for an undergraduate degree at the university.
