The Yeoh Tiong Lay LLM Scholarship Programme offers prestigious scholarships to outstanding new Law students starting their studies at The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London.

The scholarships form part of a larger £7 million gift to set up a new research-based Centre for Politics, Philosophy & Law. The gift, from the family of Malaysian alumnus Mr. Mark Yeoh, will further build King’s reputation as a dynamic international centre for legal teaching and research in the heart of London. The £7 million gift will establish, through endowment, three new posts in The Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London – a Chair (£3.5m), two Lectureships (£1.5m each) and £500,000 for 16 full LLM scholarships.

Four scholarships will be available annually. Of the four scholarships available each year, one is reserved for Malaysian residents only otherwise they are open to all applicants.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarships are open to both UK/EU and international applicants who meet the eligibility criteria listed below. Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

-be undertaking the one year LLM Law programme at King’s,

-have firmly accepted their offer of a place at King’s,

-have completed a scholarship essay and personal statement,

-be willing to provide an end of year report and a letter of thanks to the donor.

NB: These scholarships are only available to non-sponsored applicants.

Offered Benefits

The scholarships will cover the cost of your tuition fees for the year and also provide a £10000 contribution to your living costs whilst you are studying.
