Founded in 1971, WOCCU represents a vast network of member organizations across more than 100 countries, serving over 375 million individuals. Its mission is to improve lives through credit unions by fostering financial inclusion, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All countries
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship is aimed at professionals or volunteers associated with credit unions or financial cooperatives.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
    • Be 40 years of age or younger as of January 1, 2025.
    • Demonstrate passion, leadership, and commitment to improving lives through financial cooperatives.
    • Be an active employee or volunteer with a credit union or cooperative financial institution.
    • Be endorsed by a credit union, cooperative financial institution, or a national/regional association affiliated with WOCCU.
    • Have no prior history as a WYCUP scholarship recipient or as a World Council employee.
    • Preference is given to those engaged with local young professional networks or working to create such networks.

Offered Benefits

The WYCUP Scholarship offers the following:

  • Airfare, hotel, and registration fees to attend one of the following events:
    • Sicredi Study Tour, Brazil (April 13-18, 2025), including participation in the Super Summit Sicredi in Foz de Iguaçu, Brazil.
    • World Credit Union Conference (WCUC) in Stockholm, Sweden (July 14-17, 2025), the world’s largest gathering of emerging leaders and credit union professionals.
  • Exclusive access to the WYCUP In-person Global Emerging Leaders Summit, breakout sessions, and community giveback activities during WCUC 2025.
  • Opportunities to build global networks, gain leadership skills, and contribute to the credit union movement.

Application Process

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Completed application form with sponsor endorsement.
  • Proof of age (passport, driver’s license, birth certificate, or other official documentation).
  • A maximum 5-minute video addressing the questions noted in the application form.

Video Submission Notes:

  • The video should be recorded in landscape (horizontal) format.
  • It must be uploaded to YouTube with the title: “Your Name – WYCUP 2025.”
  • Include the video link in the nomination form.
