This scholarship program is designed to reward and encourage high-achieving students, who want to enroll in an undergraduate degree program and providing them with the financial support they need to begin their academic journey at WTAMU.

WT Merit Awards for International Students in USA for Bachelor Established in 1910, West Texas A&M University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the medium-sized town of Canyon (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Texas. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Applications are open to all international students.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: All undergraduate courses offered by WTAMU.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Be recent high school graduates
  • Enroll as new, full-time students at WTAMU in the fall or spring
  • Submit their most recent high school transcript showing class rank and ACT/SAT scores
  • Complete the University scholarship application by the early action date of Dec. 1 or priority date of Feb. 1
  • New spring students must complete the online scholarship application by Dec. 15, with awards based on fund availability.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: You may apply for all University level scholarships through the Apply Texas Application. These awards are available to those who submit their admission and scholarship applications by either the early action deadline of December 1 or the priority date of February 1.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • High school transcript showing class rank and ACT/SAT scores
  • TSI Scores or Proof of Exemption
  • Proof of Meningitis Vaccination
  • College Transcripts (if applicable)
  • Admission Requirements: To be eligible, the applicants must meet the following admission requirements criteria:
  • Applicants must be recent high school graduates enrolling as new, full-time students at WTAMU.
  • Students must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative high school GPA
  • High School Class Rank – Top 30%
  • 0 Cumulative High School GPA (4.0 Scale)
  • 21 ACT Composite Score or 1060 SAT Composite Score
  • Language Requirement: Applicant must meet the following English Language Requirement.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):
  • TOEFL IBT: A score of at least 80
  • TOEFL Paper-based: A score of 550
  • TOEFL Essentials: A score of at least 8.5
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): A score of at least 6.0
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Verbal Reasoning: A score of at least 146 (400 on the old scale)
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) Verbal Score: A score of at least 22
