VIU President’s Entrance International Awards for Scholar Athletes in Canada for Bachelor Established in 1969, Vancouver Island University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Nanaimo (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), British Columbia. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Duncan, Parksville, Powellriver. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training, British Columbia, Vancouver Island University (VIU) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Vancouver Island University (VIU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 50 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 60-70% making this Canadian higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Undergraduate degree programme in sports offered by the university
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Must be available for the top scholar-athletes, with students being nominated by the VIU Athletic Department.
  • One award is offered to every of the following VIU Mariner teams: Basketball (men’s & women’s), Soccer (men’s & women’s), Volleyball (men’s & women’s), Golf and Badminton.
  • Must be completing their grade 12 high school year with an “A” average of 85% or higher and No mark shall be lower than a “B” in each of the grade 11 and 12 defined academic courses.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: For grasping the opportunity, you have to take admission in the undergraduate degree coursework at the university.
  • Supporting Documents: The university requires certified copies of all educational documents and copy of passport at the time of admission
  • Admission Requirements: For taking admission, students must have to check the entry requirements of their chosen program.
  • Language Requirement: Applicants are required to fulfill the English language requirements of the university.
