The University of Huddersfield is pleased to announce the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships Scheme for international students for the academic year 2023-24.

The educational program is open for talented students undertaking a full-time or part-time basis including PhD, Master of Arts by Research, and Master of Science by Research coursework.The University of Huddersfield is a public research university that aims to undertake responsible teaching, research, and enterprise to enable students to fulfill their academic, professional, and personal potential. Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships Scheme for International Students in UK for PhD Founded in 1992, University of Huddersfield is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Huddersfield (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Yorkshire and the Humber. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Huddersfield is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Huddersfield offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities are eligible
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in any field of study.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible for the merit-based scholarship, applicants must:
  • A first-class honours degree
    A distinction at taught Master’s
    or
  • Be recommended based on your Master’s by Research by your supervisor and academic school
    and
  • Graduated from the University of Huddersfield in the last three years.

Offered Benefits

The University of Huddersfield will provide a full fee waiver on your research degree. It is open to home and international candidates.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Before applying for a scholarship, applicants must submit an admission application for their chosen degree course, and they will automatically be considered. If you have any queries or require further information please contact 
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants will need to provide the following information as part of the application:
  • Academic transcripts/mark sheets and certificates/diplomas
  • English language test scores* (IELTS, PTE, etc.)
  • Personal statement/statement of purpose
  • Two references
  • Sponsorship confirmation (if your fees are going to be paid by your government or other organization)
  • A CV detailing your employment and work experience, if applicable
  • Portfolio for many courses in Art, Design, Architecture, and Music.

  • A copy of your valid passport and visa.
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet all the  entry requirements of their chosen course before applying ( entry requirements for undergraduate study).
  • Language Requirement: Applicants who have not completed their education in a UKVI-defined majority English-speaking country within the last two years. They must satisfy the university’s  language requirements before admission.
