Acceptable Course or Subjects: PhD degree coursework in all study areas.

Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the given criteria:

For i-students applying from countries other than India, a high score in any national examination (in the candidate’s home country) or international examination (such as GRE) will be given due weightage in lieu of the required public examinations listed in the table above.

Candidates who have been awarded a CSIR/UGC/DBT Research fellowship (government fellowships) are encouraged to apply.

A research master’s degree, or

A coursework master’s degree with an overall GPA (grade point average) equivalent to 5.65 on the 7-point UQ scale, which includes a relevant research component, or

A postgraduate degree of at least one year full-time equivalent with an overall GPA equivalent to 5.0 on the 7-point UQ scale, together with demonstrated research experience equivalent to honours IIA (considered on a case-by-case basis), or

A bachelor’s degree plus at least two years of documented relevant research experience, including research publications, or

A bachelor’s degree with at least honours class IIA or equivalent from approved universities, which includes a relevant research component

Application Process

How to Apply: In order to apply for the scholarship, applicants must take admission in a PhD degree programme at the University of Queensland. There is no separate application for scholarship because you will have the opportunity to request scholarship consideration on the application for admission.

Admission Requirements: For taking admission, applicants need to meet the entry requirements of the programme.

Language Requirement: All applicants are required to meet the Academy’s English language proficiency requirements for consideration for entry into the UQIDAR Joint PhD program.
