The University of Queensland is pleased to announce the ‘Future Students Undergraduate funding for High Achievers from India’ to provide assistance for undergraduate study with the first two semester fees.

The award is a competitive and merit-based program open to high achieving students who have completed high school in India and will begin undergraduate studies at UQ in Semester 1, 2020.

UQ Future Students Undergraduate funding for High Achievers from India in Australia Founded in 1909, The University of Queensland is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized town of St Lucia (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Queensland. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Herston, Gatton. The University of Queensland (UQ) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 109 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Application are accepted form India
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The grant will be awarded for the undergraduate degree program in all study areas
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the given criteria:
  • Have completed a high school qualification in India that is equivalent to Queensland Year 12, and achieved a minimum score equivalent to a Queensland rank of 93.
  1. National Boards: Higher Secondary School Certificate (CBSE) or Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (CISC)
  2. State Boards: 1) Secondary School Certificates from the State and 2) Boards of Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu
  • Have applied to UQ to undertake undergraduate studies in a non-quota program and have either accepted or received an unconditional offer to commence in Semester 1, 2020.
  • Be an international student and holder of an Australian student visa for the duration of the study period.
  • Not simultaneously hold another funding for study at UQ.
  • If you have accepted or received an unconditional offer for a non-quota program at UQ, you will be automatically considered for this grant as long as you meet the eligibility criteria.

Application Process

How to Apply: All eligible applicants will be considered automatically for this application if they have accepted or received an unconditional offer for a non-quota program by 30 November 2019.

  • To meet the minimum entry requirements for an undergraduate program at UQ, you need to:
  1. Complete  Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent qualification)
  2. Achieve the program’s  minimum entry score
  3. Satisfy the program’s  subject prerequisites(if applicable)
  4. Successfully complete any  program-specific application requirements.
  • Supporting Documents: When you apply to UQ, include certified copies of academic transcripts and award certificates to help to demonstrate your English language proficiency, attach a copy of the IELTS/ TOEFL test result to your application.
  • Admission Requirements: To be considered for a course ay UQ, applicants must have completed a high school qualification in India and have minimum grade equivalent to a Queensland rank 93.
  • Language Requirement: To get admitted at UQ, applicants must meet the program’s  English language proficiency (ELP) requirements
