Uppsala University President’s Club International Scholarship in Sweden for Master Established in 1477, Uppsala Universitet (Uppsala University) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Uppsala (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Uppsala County. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Utbildningsdepartementet, Sverige (Ministry of Education and Research, Sweden), Uppsala Universitet (UU) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Uppsala Universitet (UU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 542 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 70-80% making this Swedish higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for master programs.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Applicants must be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
  • Applicants must demonstrate academic talent and interest in an educational environment.
  • Applicants can only be awarded the Uppsala University President’s Club Scholarship for a Master’s program at Uppsala University chosen as first priority (the program which they have ranked the highest of the four programs they can choose at University Admissions).
  • Applicants must have applied for the Master’s program before the University Admissions deadline.
  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an internationally recognized university.

Offered Benefits

The scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition fees for programs offered during the current admission round commencing 28 August 2023. The scholarship does not cover living expenses.

Application Process

Start an application: create an account on the Universityadmissions.se website.

  • How to Apply: In order to be considered for a scholarship, they must first apply for a Master’s program at Uppsala University at http://www.universityadmissions.se by 16 January 2023.
  • Supporting Documents: To complete an admissions application, applicants must provide the following documentation:
  • Record of completed upper secondary (high school) education
  • A copy of the page in the passport with the personal data and photograph or a similar identification document.
  • Note: Documents issued in English, French, Spanish, German, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish do not need to be translated.
  • For the application to be processed, applicants must provide documentation of their previous studies and English language skills.
  • University Admissions must receive the application fee and the complete supporting documents before the deadline.
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet the entry requirements for the program they applied to.
  • Program-specific entry requirements for each Master’s program are found under the section “Admissions” on each  program page.
  • Language Requirement: Sufficient knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • To be eligible for university studies in Sweden, applicants must show that they meet the English requirements for the course or program.
