The University of Newcastle is pleased to offer the Dudman, Naisby, Harrison Music Scholarship for students in the Bachelor of Music and Performing Arts program.

To be eligible for the scholarship program, applicants must be enrolled in any year of the Bachelor of Music and Performing Arts at the University of Newcastle. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to domestic and international students.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for studies in Music and Performing Arts at the University of Newcastle.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be enrolled in any year of a Bachelor of Music and Performing Arts program at the University of Newcastle.
  • New students must meet entry requirements; continuing students must have a minimum GPA of 4.0.
  • Demonstrate the impact of educational disadvantage, such as carer responsibilities, financial hardship, long-term medical conditions, a disability, abuse, or regional/remote disadvantage.
  • Consideration will be given to applicants who are Indigenous Australian, have a Refugee background, or have been placed with an Out-of-Home Care provider.
  • Not be receiving another University of Newcastle donor-funded or sponsored scholarship concurrently.

Offered Benefits

The scholarship offers a total benefit of $6,000, which will be paid as a lump sum after the semester 1 census date.

Application Process

Applicants will need to submit a personal statement (approximately one A4 page) outlining their academic achievements, career aspirations, and how the scholarship will assist them. Additionally, they may be required to submit documents supporting their personal and educational challenges.
