UNSW Sydney PhD Scholarship in Empowering Women in Era of Construction, Australia Established in 1949, The University of New South Wales is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large city of Sydney (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), New South Wales. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Domestic and international students are eligible to apply for this application.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded to PhD candidates as part of a government-funded project: Attracting, Retaining and Empowering Women in Construction program offered by the University of New South Wales.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The grant is available to a female applicant. Both domestic and international applicants are welcome to apply.
  • The candidate must be eligible to enrol in an accredited Research Doctorate at UNSW.
  • Applicants for this application will not be considered if they do not meet the minimum UNSW requirements for doctoral candidature.

Offered Benefits

The University of New South Wales will provide $40,000 per annum for 3.5 years, tax-exempt, and $10,000 additional research development funding for the duration of the candidature.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Candidates are recommended to enrol in a PhD degree program at the university. After being enrolled, applicants can complete the online application form for this award.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Submit all required documents and any queries directly to Dr Cynthia Wang (wang-at-unsw.edu.au) and A/Prof. Riza Yosia Sunindijo (r.sunindijo-at-unsw.edu.au). The required documents include:
  • Completed EOI form
  • Your CV and copy of all your academic transcripts
  • Names of two academic referees
  • Evidence of meeting UNSW English Language Requirements
  • One sample of written work appropriate for an academic audience, e.g., undergraduate dissertation, peer-reviewed journal article, etc.
  • A draft research proposal outlining the research background, research gap/problem, research aim and objectives, the significance of the research, short literature review, research plan and schedule, and expected research outcomes (no more than 3000 words).
  • A “Statement of Purpose” outlining your reasons for applying, how you meet the eligibility criteria, and your personal goals (about 100 words).
  • Admission Requirements: To be considered for this program applicant must meet all the  entry requirements for the university.
  • Language Requirement: If English is not your first language or mother tongue, you should provide evidence of your  English language proficiency through one of the entry requirements or language tests.
