UNSW Sydney China Scholarship Council (CSC) Scholarship in Australia for PhD Established in 1949, The University of New South Wales is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large city of Sydney (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), New South Wales. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education and Training, Australia, The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: over-45,000 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of New South Wales (UNSW) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: China
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded to a Ph.D. course offered by the university.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Admission and scholarship application minimum requirements: visit Research Higher Degree Programs.
  • English requirements: All applicants must provide evidence that their English language ability meets the minimum UNSW English Language Requirements, whether domestic or international.
  • All applicants, whether domestic or international, must complete the GTE & Financial Declaration Form and, if required, submit evidence of their capacity to fund all living costs, fees, and other associated costs. Applicants to UNSW must demonstrate that they can financially support themselves (and any dependants) for their studies and, if international applicants, that they are Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE). This may be through applying for a UNSW Research Scholarship, an alternative scholarship or sponsorship (provided by a source external to UNSW), or self-funding.

This scholarship is open to Chinese citizens awarded a UNSW Tuition Fee Scholarship (TFS) under the common UNSW / CSC Doctoral Degree Program. This scholarship is only available to Ph.D. applicants who plan to commence their studies at UNSW in Term 3.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Candidates must apply to UNSW for Admission. Candidates who receive an unconditional offer of admission and scholarship from UNSW must complete a CSC application.
  • Supporting Documents: Scanned copies of their documents with their application. They must be prepared to present their original documents to UNSW for inspection before enrolment if requested, so they will need to bring them. Documents may be verified later with their home institution or by sighting original documentation.

  • A research proposal and details of references must be submitted.
  • Admission Requirements: Students have to complete the  admission requirements of the University.
  • Language Requirement: Students must verify their English proficiency by completing their  English proficiency requirements.
