The University of Zurich is offering a PhD Position in Social Psychology starting on August 1, 2025, supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). The position is part of the Swiss LGBTIQ+ Panel, a longitudinal research project examining the experiences and well-being of LGBTIQ+ individuals in Switzerland.

To be eligible for this position, applicants must hold a master’s degree in (Social) Psychology or a related field and have a strong interest in LGBTIQ+ and social psychological research. Experience with quantitative methods (e.g., R) is essential, while knowledge of qualitative methods is an asset.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in the field of Social Psychology.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

    • Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in (Social) Psychology or a related field.

    • Demonstrate a strong interest in social psychology and LGBTIQ+ research.

    • Have experience with quantitative research methods and statistical tools (e.g., R).

    • Knowledge of qualitative methods is an asset.

    • Be fluent in English and proficient in either German, French, or Italian.

    • Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
