The University Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship for excellent students from non-EU/EER countries, applying for a graduate programme (MSc) at the University of Twente.
The Kipaji Scholarship Fund is founded especially for talented students from the Least Developed Countries and Other Low Income Countries on the DAC list. Students from these countries could have the potential, but not the means to study at the University of Twente. The Kipaji Scholarship supports students who also receive a University of Twente Scholarship. Students cannot apply for the Kipaji scholarship through the UT application system. Those interested should indicate in their UTS motivation that they also wish to be considered for the Kipaji scholarship when they meet the criteria.
Founded in 1961, Universiteit Twente (University of Twente) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Enschede (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Overijssel. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministerie van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap, Nederland (Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Netherlands), Universiteit Twente is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for a the University of Twente Scholarship, you should meet all the requirements below
Application for an UT scholarship is a procedure separate from the application for course entry at the University of Twente. Regardless of funding, you will need to gain an accademic admission letter first.
You have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master programmes starting in the academic year 2026/2027 (September). Please note: After completion of your application, it may take up to 8 weeks before you receive the results.
You must have a studentnumber.
You have not graduated from a UT (under)graduate programme;
You comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands (if applicable);
You comply with the general English language test requirement Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills
You are not eligible for a Dutch study loan;
The University Twente Scholarship is a scholarship for excellent students. This means that you only belong to the best 5 to 10 percent of your graduation class at your home university. Self-knowledge is of the essence!
