University of Sydney Faculty of Science Completion International Scholarships in Australia for Master Established in 1989, Western Sydney University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Penrith (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), New South Wales. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Bankstown, Nirimba, Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, Liverpool City, Parramatta South, Parramatta City, Penrith, Sydney City, Sydney Olympic Park, Westmead. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Domestic and international students both can apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply for a PhD degree programme in the Faculty of Science.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Be currently enrolled in Higher Degree by Research course within Faculty of Science at the time of application
  • Not have consumed the maximum candidature for their degree as per the University of Sydney (Higher Degree by Research) Rule 2011Policy at the time of application closing date
  • Not currently hold another primary scholarship for the intended duration of this Scholarship
  • Have completed at least 1.5 Equivalent Full Time Student Load (EFTSL) (MPhil recipients) of candidature, and PhD recipients must have completed at least 3 EFTSL of candidature
  • Have a reasonable expectation of submitting their thesis within 6 months from the commencement of the award
  • Not have submitted thesis by the closing date of application.

Offered Benefits

The scholarship program would provide:

  • A one-off stipend allowance of $7,000 (full-time enrolment).
  • Academic Tuition fee (international students only) for the research period(s) related to the award period(s).
  • A recipient enrolled part-time will be provided with a stipend allowance of $3,500 for a period of 6 months, i.e. two instalments @$3,500.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: The students must first submit an  online application form. Eligible applicants will be considered for the scholarship award.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Scholarship documentation
  • English language results
  • Academic transcripts
  • Marriage/change of name certificate/identification
  • Degree certificates
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must have an honours degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) or equivalent or have a master’s degree.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • IELTS – 6.5
