University of Sussex Psychology Doctoral Research International Studentships in UK for PhD Established in 1961, University of Sussex is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Brighton (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Sussex is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Sussex offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to all nationalities
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline
  • Admissible Criteria: Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, a First or a high Upper Second Class honours undergraduate degree, or equivalent qualification, and/or a Master’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline.

Offered Benefits

The University of Sussex will cover the following study expenses:

  • A stipend for 3 years (£18,622 per year for 2023/24).
  • UK or International fees covered for 3 years.
  • Research/training costs of £750 per year covered for 3 years.
  • Opportunity for Doctoral Tutoring with payment at Grade 6 (£17.38 per hour).
  • School-funded Postgraduate Researchers have the opportunity to take up Doctoral Tutoring during the PhD.
  • Up to 7 scholarships available for September 2024.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: In order to apply for this funding programme, students must take admission in a PhD by Research programs at the university. After being enrolled, they will complete an online application form for this scholarships
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must upload all the following supporting documents:
  • A research proposal (1,000 to 1,500 words, not exceeding 3 pages) outlining the knowledge of the research area, hypotheses, and potential methods.
  • Current degree transcript(s) with full details of performance on all completed courses.
  • Two academic references.
  • An up-to-date CV.
  • A document summarizing any teaching experience and illustrating suitability for a Doctoral Tutor role.
  • International students should provide evidence of English Language proficiency.
  • Admission Requirements: Candidates must have a First or a high Upper Second Class Honours undergraduate degree or equivalent, and/or a Master’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline.
  • Language Requirement: International students must meet the English Language requirements as outlined on the PhD home page.
