The intent of this award is to encourage graduate students to complete their degree at the University of Regina. Selection will be based not only on academic achievement, but also on an applicant's leadership skills and contributions to his/her community and/or the University community. The Alumni Association will encourage the recipient of the award to become involved with the Association while still students on campus and to provided input into the Association's student relations programming.

University of Regina Alumni Association Leadership Awards 2025 Established in 1911, University of Regina is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Regina (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Saskatchewan. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Saskatchewan, University of Regina (U of R) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Regina (U of R) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 108 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 80-90% making this Canadian higher education organization a least selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

Student must meet the following criteria:

  • Full-time or part-time, with a minimum term grade point average (TGPA) of 80%; and
  • Demonstrate through application in writing, not to exceed one page, an application of leadership skills and community involvement through previous and current volunteer activities.

Offered Benefits

$3,150 - 1 Available will be given to the recipient of University of Regina Alumni Association Leadership Awards 2025

Note: An amount, not to exceed $1,575 will be paid directly to the student in the Fall semester. To qualify for payment of the second installment of $1,575 in the winter semester, the graduate student must pass all courses and maintain a term grade point average (TGPA) of 80%. Second payment will be paid directly to student.
