South Africa: University of Pretoria Masters Research Scholarship


The project is offered on a full-time basis only. The MSc candidate must begin the project before the end of June 2021 and submit the dissertation for examination by the end of 2022. A generous bursary is available to reimburse registration and tuition fees, and cover living expenses. Research costs will also be covered.

South Africa: University of Pretoria Masters Research Scholarship Established in 1908, University of Pretoria is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large city of Pretoria (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Gauteng. University of Pretoria (UP) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 111 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • BSc Honours or BScAgric degree in Biology, Crop Protection, Entomology or similar with final year grade of at least 60%
  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of integrated pest management
  • Willing and comfortable to work in the field for extended periods of time
  • Strong communication skills in oral and written English
  • Patience and attention to detail
  • Based in or able to relocate to Pretoria
  • A valid driver’s license
