University of Oxford 2023 Rhodes Scholarship for African Students (Fully-funded) for Master Founded in 1096, University of Oxford is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Oxford (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Oxford is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Oxford offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. This 923 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 20-30% making this UK higher education organization a very selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Rhodes Trust warmly welcomes applications from talented young persons of diverse backgrounds.

  • The detailed eligibility criteria varies slightly depending on which constituency you are applying for. A constituency is a country, a group of countries, and/or territories, regions or states, grouped together for the purposes of administering scholarships.
  • Selection of Rhodes Scholars is made without regard to gender, gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, colour, religion, social background, caste, or disability.

Offered Benefits

A Rhodes Scholarship covers:

  • Oxford University course fees;
  • The University application fee;
  • An annual living stipend of £18,180
  • Student visa fee and the associated International Health Surcharge (IHS);
  • Two economy class flights – to and from the UK – for the beginning and end of studies in Oxford.

On arrival in Oxford, Scholars receive a settling in allowance and for those Scholars who transition to a second course of study in Oxford, they will again receive assistance to cover the fee for visa renewal and further application for IHS.
