This program offers eligible candidates a four-year scholarship, effectively easing the financial burden associated with university tuition fees.
The University of Ottawa takes immense pride in its diverse international student community. The Entrance & Excellence Scholarship is exclusively designed for international students hailing from African nations who intend to embark on their academic journey in the Fall 2024 term, commencing in September.
This generous scholarship program offers substantial reductions in tuition fees. Excellence scholarships provide annual relief ranging from $17,500 to $25,000, while entrance scholarships offer tuition assistance ranging from $12,000 to $20,000, depending on the selected program.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for these scholarships, international students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of any country in Africa or one of the countries listed
- Be newly admitted in the fall 2024 term or after, in one of the eligible undergraduate programs offered in English in one of the faculties listed
- Not enrol in the French immersion stream
- Have a valid study permit when classes start
- Be enrolled full time.
Offered Benefits
The Entrance & Excellence Scholarship provides incoming students with a four-year scholarship to alleviate a portion of their university tuition fees. These scholarships are denominated in Canadian dollars and are renewable for up to 12 terms.

- Excellence Scholarship – $80,000 over 4 years ($20,000 per year)
- Entrance Scholarship – $40,000 over 4 years ($10,000 per year)

Application Process
Go to University of Ottawa on www.ouac.on.ca to apply
- First the student has to apply here: https://www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/
- Then the University would receive the application and generate a Student Number which the prospective student would use to login to the school’s portal, UOZone, and then submit their results and documents for review.
- After a successful review, they will be offered a conditional admission offer which will include the scholarship depending on their average.
The submission deadline for all 2022 nominations is by 5:00 p.m., Central Time, on or before 31st March, 2022.
