University of Otago China Scholarship Council Doctoral Scholarship in New Zealand for PhD Founded in 1869, University of Otago is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Dunedin (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Otago. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, New Zealand, University of Otago is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Otago offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for a PhD degree in any subject offered by the university
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Applicants meet the eligibility standards set by the China Scholarship Council to apply for and receive one of its scholarships. Refer to the official website of the China Scholarship Council for more information.
  • Applicants must have admission into the PhD program at the University of Otago.
  • Unless otherwise stated in these conditions or within the schedule, Doctoral and Master’s scholarships are open only to Domestic Fee Paying Students.3 International candidates studying for professional doctorates are eligible to apply, but the tuition fee waiver will be capped at the domestic rate if awarded a scholarship.
  • In the case of applicants for a doctoral scholarship, confirmation of the scholarship is dependent on the approval of their application for admission to the relevant doctoral program and completion of the enrolment procedure.
  • In the case of applicants for a Master’s scholarship, confirmation of the scholarship is dependent on the approval of their application to register as a Master’s candidate and completion of the enrolment procedure.
