University of Manchester Global Futures Scholarships for African Students for Master


The University of Manchester is proud to offer awards totalling £300,000 to international students, commencing their studies in September 2022. The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and master’s students. . 

Master’s awards

We're offering 30 merit-based master’s scholarships of £10,000 to international students domiciled in the following countries in Africa: Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.Please note the application form will only be made available to students who have applied and received an offer for a full-time master’s starting in 2022.

University of Manchester Global Futures Scholarships for African Students for Master Founded in 1824, The University of Manchester is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Manchester (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), North West England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, The University of Manchester is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 40,000-44,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Manchester offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 195 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants for the African awards must have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer to study a full-time programme at Manchester and must submit an online scholarship application form by 19 June 2022. The application form will be emailed to all eligible offer-holders.
  • Applicants will be considered for the award based on academic merit and the quality of their scholarship application.
  • Applicants must be self-funded (ie not sponsored).
  • Applicants for MBA, MPhil, Master of Architecture (MArch), Architecture and Urbanism (MA), Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Clinical Medicine and Dentistry degrees are not eligible for the award. 

Offered Benefits

  • 30 awards of £10,000 will be awarded based on academic excellence and the quality of your responses in the online application form.
  • Scholarships will be awarded in the form of an appropriate discount against published tuition fees.
