The University of Leeds is seeking high-performing aspirants to take part in MSc Scholarships in Data Science programme in the UK.

The award is available to support excellent domestic students who want to commence a PhD degree programme at the University of Leeds.The scholarship aims to increase the diversity of students studying AI and data science postgraduate conversion courses. Each scholarship is worth £10k which can be put towards course costs or living costs incurred while studying.

University of Leeds MSc Scholarships in Data Science, UK Founded in 1904, University of Leeds is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Leeds (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Yorkshire and the Humber. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Leeds is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Leeds offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 115 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: UK
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: PhD scholarship will be awarded in the Faculty of Environment.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible for an award, students must be from at least one of the following underrepresented groups, with priority being given to the first four groups:
    1. women
    2. black students
    3. students registered disabled
    4. students from low socioeconomic background (Index of Multiple Disadvantage quintiles 1 and 2, low household income)
    5. care, experienced students,
    6. estranged students
    7. Gypsy, Roma and Traveller students
    8. refugees
    9. children from military families, veterans and partners of military personnel.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: In order to apply for this scholarship, you should first apply for a place on the Mastres programme at Leeds University.
  • Supporting Documents: you will need to provide: a CV; a supporting statement (no longer than one A4 page saying why you are applying for this project and how your skills map onto the requirements of the research project); transcripts and degree certificates of bachelor’s degree.
  • Language Requirement: Students from outside the home country will often need to meet specific  English language requirements in order to be able to study at the university.
