The objective of this scholarship is to promote the recruitment of exceptional doctoral students interested in carrying out research on a dimension of the study of democracy and parliamentary institutions.

Application Process

The file, including all documents to download, must be sent to the address   specifying the name of the scholarship.

Application files must contain: 

  • Summary of the study project which explicitly and convincingly demonstrates the relevance of the research question (maximum of 2 pages)
  • Description of the management environment (study program, direction /co-research direction) - (maximum of 1/2 page)
  • Copies of official transcripts from undergraduate and graduate studies
  • Curriculum vitae including the list of achievements and distinctions of the student[e] (e.g.: publication, communication, prize or scholarship, volunteering, social and community engagement)
  • Letter of support from a professor or person who can attest to the excellence of the student[e]
  • The thesis supervisor must also complete a student evaluation form[e].*

It is strongly recommended to convert documents to PDF format, group them and compress them at the time of sending.

A submitted application file which is not accompanied by all the supporting documents required on the closing date of the competition is declared ineligible by the Chair.

*Student Assessment Form[e]

Students [e]s who wish to apply for the admission scholarship to the Chair on Democracy and Parliamentary Institutions must send this  evaluation form to their thesis director[s]. When their thesis director has completed the form, it will be automatically sent to the Chair on Democracy and Parliamentary Institutions. The student[e] is then responsible for mentioning the name of his or her thesis director in his or her application file so that the evaluation committee has access to the appropriate form.
