These scholarships include a doctoral stipend (equivalent to the Research Councils UK National Minimum Doctoral Stipend, £17,668 2022/23 rate, 2023/24 to be announced) for 3.5 years, tuition fees at the home rate and access to further research support funding. University of Kent 2023 EPSRC Doctoral Scholarship for International Students for Master Founded in 1965, University of Kent is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Canterbury (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Kent (KENT) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Kent (KENT) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 54 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Successful candidates will demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding research potential.
  • Applicants should have, or expect to obtain, a first or upper second-class honours degree in a relevant subject, and ideally a Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • The studentships are open to Home and Overseas (including EU) students. The number of international studentships awarded per cohort is capped by UKRI at 30%. To be classed as a Home student, candidates must meet the  RCUK residency criteria.

UK residential conditions:

  • Be a UK National (meeting UKRI  residency requirements), or
  • Have settled status, or
  • Have pre-settled status (meeting residency requirement) or
  • Have indefinite leave to remain or enter.

  • Explain reasons for study/outline research proposal
  • Provide details/evidence of qualifications
  • Provide two academic references
