Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries:  All British nationals and other overseas students are eligible to apply. 
  • Eligible Course or Subjects:  Candidates can apply for the PhD Biological Sciences study programme at Energy Environment Institute and the School of Natural Sciences at the University of Hull.
  • Eligibility Criteria:  To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be full-time students only. 
  • The applicants must pursue independent research and be able to interact and work effectively with colleagues, as their independent projects will jointly contribute to cluster research goals.
  • The applicants must hold a current driving license as the role requires field site visits.

Offered Benefits

The successfully selected PhD candidates will be awarded a scholarship consisting of a maintenance grant or stipend worth £17,668 and a fee waiver for three years by the University of Hull. 

Application Process

  • How to Apply:  The students can apply for admission in the PhD programme via the  university portal . Eligible candidates will be automatically considered for the PhD scholarship. 
  • Supporting Documents:  Applicants must submit to present the following documents to the university:
  • Research proposal 
  • references 
  • Copy of official statement of results
  • Certificate or transcript
  • Admission Requirements:  The applicants must have at least a 2.1 undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, such as Biology or Environmental Sciences, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Language Requirement:  The students must provide  proof of English language proficiency  as required by the university. TOEFL, IELTS, etc., are accepted.
