The University of Ghana is accepting applications from students pursuing an undergraduate program at the University for the next (January/February) academic year from the beginning of the second semester. 

To have access to it, kindly download and submit the completed form together with supporting documents to the Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO) by the deadline below.

You are required to submit a completed application form with all the supporting documentation to the SFAO. It is important that you respond fully to all the questions on the form that is applicable to you. You may be asked for additional information.Level/Field of study:

University of Ghana Scholarships for Undergraduates Established in 1948, University of Ghana is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Legon (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Greater Accra. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Korle-Bu, Accra City. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the National Accreditation Board, Ghana (National Accreditation Board, Ghana), University of Ghana (UG) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Ghana (UG) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 71 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 30-40% making this Ghanaian higher education organization a very selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Be a Ghanaian citizen
  • Be enrolled as a regular student in a full-time program of study
  • You must be able to demonstrate financial need
  • Be brilliant
  • Be making excellent academic progress as determined by the University.

Application Process

You are required to read the eligibility page, download the appropriate form and submit a completed application form with all the supporting documentation to the University of Ghana Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO).

It is important that you respond fully to all the questions on the form that is applicable to you. You may be asked for additional information if corrections are needed or if any information/response on your application is not clear.

The next step is an interview with shortlisted applicants. If your application is successful, you will receive written notification describing the kind of financial aid that you have been awarded. The award would be credited to your student account at the University of Ghana.
