The College of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Social Sciences (CACSSS) is excited to announce the CACSSS PhD Excellence Scholarships for the academic year 2024/2025. This prestigious scholarship program aims to support exceptional PhD/MPhil/PhD Track students across various disciplines within CACSSS at the University College Cork (UCC).

There are ten scholarships open to provide financial assistance to outstanding candidates pursuing doctoral studies within the College of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Social Sciences. University College Cork CACSSS PhD Excellence Scholarships in Ireland Founded in 1845, University College Cork is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Cork (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), County Cork. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education and Skills, Ireland, University College Cork (UCC) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University College Cork (UCC) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to all nationalities
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the university
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
    • Prospective students who have already applied for a PhD/MPhil in CACSSS and intend to commence their studies in the academic year 2024/2025
    • Students who are currently registered in either first, second or third year of a PhD/MPhil/PhD Track in CACSSS.

Offered Benefits

Successful applicants will receive coverage of EU tuition fees for their doctoral studies at University College Cork. The scholarship will be awarded for one year initially, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 3 years at the discretion of the Graduate Studies Committee, subject to meeting certain conditions.

Application Process

Interested candidates must have already applied for a postgraduate course at UCC before applying for the scholarship to be eligible. Applications for the academic year 2024/25 will open on 19 March 2024 and close on 1 May 2024. For inquiries, questions about this scholarship can be directed to .
