With the generous backing of Global Affairs Canada, the UMAP International Secretariat, presently based at Vancouver Community College, is offering financial support for both physical and virtual study abroad programs within the UMAP consortium.
The UMAP-Canada scholarships are open to Canadian citizens enrolled in UMAP member institutions in Canada, allowing them to pursue studies at UMAP member institutions located in different countries. Additionally, foreign nationals from UMAP member institutions have the opportunity to study at UMAP Canada member institutions, participating in approved UMAP programs, whether they are physical or virtual. This opportunity spans the period from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible Countries: Canadians for study abroad, and non-Canadians for UMAP programs in Canada
- Acceptable Course or Subjects: Any subject offered by UMAP member institutions
- Admissible Criteria: Applicants must meet UMAP guidelines and program-specific criteria
- UMAP Canada-Scholarship 2023-24 for Canadians: Canadian citizens studying at Canadian UMAP member institutions can apply for scholarships to pursue UMAP programs abroad.
- UMAP Canada-Scholarship 2023-24 for non-Canadians: Foreign nationals from UMAP member institutions can apply for scholarships to study at UMAP Canada member institutions.
Award Value: The scholarship value varies based on the type and duration of the program:
- Physical Mobility:
- Four-month program / one academic term: $10,200 CAD
- Five- to seven-month program: $12,700 CAD
- Eight-month program / two academic terms: $14,700 CAD
- Short-term programs (7-30 days): $3,500 CAD
- Virtual Mobility:
- All programs: longer than one week (7 days) to a maximum of one semester (3-4 months), pro-rated for program type and length, up to CAD $1,000 per month
