In view of the crisis in Ukraine, Heinrich Heine University has decided to award Scholarships to Ukrainian Researchers in Germany for the academic year 2022-2023.

The scholarship application is open to Ukrainian national students, especially Ukraine PhD students, postdocs, and professors who have fled Ukraine and have a host institute at HHU. Twelve researchers will be awarded this scholarship for six months. 1,200€ to 2,500€ per month will be awarded.

Offered Benefits

The postgraduate candidate selected by the university will be provided a sum of 1,200€ to 2,500€ per month for their master’s or PhD study, respectively, undertaken at Heinrich Heine University.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: The applicants must submit the supporting documents via mail to . All applicants will be considered.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Letter of support, including confirmation of working space from the hosting institute at HHU.
  • Short description of the research project (max. 1 page)
  • Curriculum vitae, including a list of publications
  • Master’s degree or PhD certificate
  • Passport
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must meet the course-specific entry requirements and have a relevant masters or PhD degree certificate.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores on the following English language proficiency tests:
