UC Dennis William Moore International Scholarship in New Zealand, 2020 for Master Established in 1873, University of Canterbury is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Christchurch (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Canterbury. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, New Zealand, University of Canterbury (UC) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Canterbury (UC) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 146 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Aspirants from New Zealand and all over the world
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Postgraduate degree by research in Astronomy
  • Admissible Criteria: The studentship will be awarded to a thesis student in Astronomy who has been or will be undertaking observational work at Mt John as part of his/her thesis work. The tenure shall be one year for a Masters student and up to three years for a student enrolled in a PhD.

Application Process

  • To be considered for this bursary, claimants are advised to be registered as a postgraduate degree by research student at the University of Canterbury. After taking affirmation, candidates will be automatically considered for this studentship.
  • There are no supporting documents are needed for this grant. At the time of application, the university may be asked for it.
  • For taking admission, claimants are required to hold the certificates of the previous degree with good academic grades.
  • For aspirants whose first language is not English, the University sets a minimum English language proficiency level.
