UBA Foundation, the CSR arm of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc is delighted to announce the National Essay Competition for the year of 2019-2020.
The educational grant is only applicable to students who intend to study in an African University. The NEC provides a competitive platform to develop the intellectual and writing abilities of senior secondary school students in Nigeria.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Countries: Applications from Nigeria are particularly welcome.
Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be awarded in any senior secondary study program subjects offered by the foundation.
Admissible Criteria: Applicants must be senior secondary school living in Nigeria.
Application Process
- How to Apply: To take advantage of this program, aspirants must have to complete all entry requirements and send any UBA business office closest to you OR to UBA Foundation, UBA House, 57 Marina, Lagos, Nigeria on or before the deadline.
- Supporting Documents: Applicants must attach photocopies of either their international passport data page or of their original birth certificates, should send in handwritten essay entries of not more than 750 words on the competition topic, Applicants must submit their complete contact information (school name and address, residential address, phone number, and email address).
- Language Requirements: Applicants must have excellent proficiency in oral and written English.
Benefits: The foundation provides its local currency equivalent to tuition/fees at any University in Africa.
