The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, in partnership with the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), is pleased to announce the launch of the Adejumobi Adegbite Fellowship for Young Journalists. This prestigious one-year fellowship honors the legacy of the late Adejumobi Adegbite, a respected journalist and former U.S. Consulate Information Specialist, who made significant contributions to the field of journalism in Nigeria.
The Adejumobi Adegbite Fellowship is open to emerging Nigerian journalists with no more than five years of professional experience. Eligible applicants must be active media practitioners—whether full-time, part-time, freelance, or interns—permanently residing in Nigeria. The fellowship aims to support and empower 10 early-career Nigerian journalists with a strong interest in investigative, multimedia, and data-driven reporting.
The Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) is a Nigerian nonprofit media organization committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and social justice through in-depth investigative reporting. Founded to expose corruption, abuse of power, and human rights violations, FIJ empowers journalists with the tools and support needed to uncover the truth and hold powerful institutions accountable.
