Tuition-Fee Scholarships for International Students at Åbo Akademi University, Finland Established in 1918, Abo Akademi (Abo Akademi University) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Turku (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Southwest Finland. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö, Suomi (Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland), Abo Akademi (AAU) is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 8,000-8,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Abo Akademi (AAU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 101 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes available at AAU are eligible to apply for.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants are required to be accepted by the university in the applied program.

Offered Benefits

The selected students will receive partial or fully-funded positions up to 50% to 100% towards the tuition fee of the applied programme for two years.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Interested students must select a preferred programme and follow its application process. The applicants must indicate on the application form their wish to apply for a scholarship.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • High school record
  • Bachelor degree qualification
  • Reference letter
  • Visa copy
  • Passport copy
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must have relevant qualifications for the applied programme to be accepted by the university.
  • Language Requirement: The applicants are required to attain minimum scores in the following English language proficiency tests:
  • IELTS – 6.5
  • TOEFL IBT – 92
  • PTE – 62
