The University of Tasmania is offering African international students commencing study in 2022 a chance to fund their education in Australia through its Track to Tasmania Scholarships for the academic year 2022-2023.

This is a tuition fee scholarship offered to all international undergraduate and postgraduate students who are citizens of selected countries. The winners will be provided a 15% reduction on registered tuition fees of the programme undertaken by them at UTAS for its complete duration.

Track to Tasmania Scholarships for African Students in Australia Founded in 1890, University of Tasmania is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Hobart (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Tasmania. University of Tasmania (UTAS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 129 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Students from Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Undergraduate or Honours coursework programs, excluding Bachelor of Nursing Hobart and Launceston; and fully online-only programs, and postgraduate coursework programs, excluding Master of Laboratory Medicine and fully online programs can be applied for at the University of Tasmania.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • To receive the scholarship, you must be a citizen of Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe and be commencing the full fee-paying study of an eligible course at the university for the first time.
  • The applicants must have applied for an eligible programme and must be commencing the full fee-paying study of an eligible course at the university for the first time.

Offered Benefits

The selected candidates will be provided a 15% reduction in registered tuition fees for the full duration of eligible courses undertaken at the University of Tasmania.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Students are assessed automatically upon submission of their International Student Application. No separate scholarship application is required.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
