Intending to support the education of outstanding students in Japan, the University of Tsukuba is delighted to announce the Tokyo YWCA Japanese Mothers for International Students.

The educational program seeks to support the talented and deserving students who want to undertake a graduate degree at the university.

Tokyo YWCA Japanese Mothers program for International Students, Japan for Course Founded in 1973, University of Tsukuba is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Tsukuba (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Ibaraki. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Tokyo. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan, University of Tsukuba is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Tsukuba offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 46 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 10-20% making this Japanese higher education organization a most selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Offered Benefits

The students that will be selected for this application will receive a JPY 100,000 by the University of Tsukuba towards the cost of the graduate program undertaken.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Interested candidates are requested to complete their initial admission application through the application page of the desired graduate programme.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • University letter of recommendation
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Certificate of school attendance
  • Copy of student ID
  • Academic transcripts
  • Admission Requirements: The candidates must have completed 12 years of school education and hold a relevant bachelor’s degree.
  • Language Requirement: The students are required to provide English proficiency proof by submitting copies of scores of IELTS, TOEFL, or similar tests.
