The educational program is open to international students from East Asian or Southeast-Asian countries. The scholarship will be awarded towards a master’s or doctoral study program enrolled in, at Tokyo Tech. The applicants must not be more than 30 to 35 years of age and be fluent in the Japanese language to be eligible to win this scholarship, which is worth 150,000 Yen per month.

Tokyo Institute of Technology Iwatani International Scholarships in Japan Established in 1881, Tokyo Institute of Technology is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Tokyo (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan, Tokyo Institute of Technology is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Tokyo Institute of Technology offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries:  Students from countries in East-Asia or Southeast Asia can apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects:  Master’s or doctoral-level study can be undertaken at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. 
  • Eligibility Criteria:  To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have entered Japan with a “College Student Visa.”  
  • The applicants must have a nationality of East Asia or Southeast Asia.
  • The applicants must be enrolled as Master’s and Doctoral students in April 2023.
  • The applicants must be under 30 years old with a Master’s and under 35 years old at a Doctoral course as of April 1st, 2023.
  • The applicants must be able to communicate in Japanese.

The scholarship winners will be presented an award worth 150,000 Yen per month by the Tokyo Institute of Technology.

  • Admission Requirements:  The applicants must have graduated from a university or college in Japan or abroad and have successfully completed three years or more of education. 
  • Language Requirement:  The applicants are required to be fluent in the Japanese language and be able to communicate in it.
