Thesis/Dissertation Scholarships in Austria Founded in 1585, Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (University of Graz) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Graz (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Styria. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Bundesministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft and Forschung, Österreich (Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, Austria), Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (KFUG) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (KFUG) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Austria and international students with equivalent status
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the University of Graz.
  • Admissible Criteria:
    • Applicants must be regular students with Austrian citizenship or have equal status according to § 4 StudFG.
    • Eligible for those beginning or currently working on a thesis.
    • The thesis must be methodologically and content-wise worthy of support.
    • Activities started within one year of funding commitment are eligible.
    • Applicants must have a favorable academic record and meet the entitlement period according to § 18 StudFG.

    • Notification of acceptance of the exposé for Doctoral Program students
    • Description of the planned work
    • Cost breakdown and financing plan
    • Assessment by a university teacher
    • Evidence of any extensions due to special circumstances (e.g., maternity leave, illness)
