The University of Nottingham Family Scholarship for course


Family Scholarships are available for International and EU students who have, or have had, immediate family at The University of Nottingham, either studying on a full time degree course, or graduated from a full time degree course, i.e. brother, sister, father, mother, husband or wife.

The University of Nottingham Family Scholarship for course Established in 1948, The University of Nottingham is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Nottingham (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), East Midlands. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Derby, Sutton Bonington, Lincoln, Semenyih. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, The University of Nottingham is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Nottingham offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 71 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

Available for students who;

  • are classed as an overseas or European Union (non UK) student for fee purposes**,**
  • register on a new full-time degree programme at Nottingham in September 2013,
  • whose family members are, or were, also registered on a full-time degree programme and classed as an overseas or European Union (non UK) student for fee purposes.

Offered Benefits

  • Where brothers or sisters register full time at The University of Nottingham UK for award bearing programmes, each second and subsequent brother or sister is entitled to a scholarship of 10% of the first year this scholarship will be given on evidence of the brother or sister relationship (i.e. copies of birth certificates) and of each brother or sister being registered on full time award bearing programmes (i.e. student ID number or copy of graduation certificate), the brothers or sisters need not be studying on programmes at the University together but may have registered some years apart.
  • Children of alumni (children whose parents completed a degree programme at The University of Nottingham) who register full time at The University of Nottingham UK for an award bearing programme, are entitled to a scholarship of 10% of the first year this scholarship will be given on evidence of the parent/child relationship (eg - copy of birth certificate) and evidence of one of the parents being Nottingham alumni (eg - student ID number or copy of graduation certificate).
  • Husbands or wives who register full time at The University of Nottingham UK for award bearing programmes are entitled to a scholarship of 10% of the first year's tuition fee for either the husband or the wife
