The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully-funded postgraduate award which enables talented young people from around the world to study full-time at the University of Oxford. The Rhodes Scholarship is merit-based, with the purpose of developing public-spirited leaders, and to promote international understanding and peace through an international community of Scholars.
Applying for the Scholarship is a challenge, but it is an experience which has helped generations of young people to succeed. We encourage applications from talented students everywhere.
Rhodes Scholars come to the UK for two or more years and can apply to study most full-time postgraduate courses in almost any field offered by Oxford University.

Founded in 1096, University of Oxford is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Oxford (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Oxford is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Oxford offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. - To apply for the Rhodes Scholarship, you must complete and submit our online application form before 23:59 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), 28 August 2025.
- There is no application fee for submission of the Rhodes Scholarship application form; however you must submit your application online, before the deadline, and we can’t accept any other form of application.
- You should apply for the Rhodes Scholarship before applying for your proposed course at the University of Oxford.
- Candidates selected for the Rhodes Scholarship are then required to apply for their chosen course via the University of Oxford’s graduate application form with support from the team at Rhodes House.

Required Documents:
- A certified copy of your birth certificate (or an affidavit of birth). A National Identity Card. A valid passport (with translation, if necessary) . A voter's card . An affidavit notarised by a competent authority confirming that you are a bonafide citizen of your country
- An official transcript from the college or university at which you are studying, or have studied, showing grades achieved (to date).
- Evidence of residency within the region for at least five of the last ten years, for example official school records.
- Evidence that you meet the University of Oxford’s English language requirements
- A CV
- A Personal Statement
- A total of four (minimum) to six (maximum) referees
