The International Peace Scholarship by PEO International 2026 Established in 1884, Cottey College is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the rural setting of the small town of Nevada (population range of 2,500-9,999 inhabitants), Missouri. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Higher Learning Commission, Cottey College is a very small (uniRank enrollment range: 250-499 students) women only higher education institution. Cottey College offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees in several areas of study. This 135 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

A woman is eligible for consideration for an International Peace Scholarship if she:

  • is a woman outside the United States and Canada who is seeking an advanced degree from an accredited college or university in Canada;
    • will return to her home country to utilize her education to make a positive impact and foster global peace; and
    • has a full year of formal coursework remaining and is enrolled and in residence in the U.S. or Canada for the entire school year; or
  • is an international student attending Cottey College

Please note:

  • Doctoral students who have completed coursework and are working only on dissertations are not eligible as first-time applicants.
  • A student who is a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada is not eligible. A student with residency for tax purposes only is permitted.
  • Scholarships are not given for online courses, research, internships or for practical training if not combined with formal coursework.

Offered Benefits

The maximum amount awarded to a student is $12,500.
