Thousands of local NGOs in Nigeria have had to cancel high-impact activities since January 2025 in response to recent funding cuts. Locally registered Nigerian NGOs that have had to suspend activities on gender equality, women's economic empowerment, school safety for girls, women's health, gender-based violence prevention, and social justice are invited to submit applications for a rapid response fund of up to N5 million.

Requirements for Grant Program

Activities supported under the NSI-Grant must be implemented within 3 months and designed to include partnerships with communities and government at any level. To apply for the NSI-Grant, registered NGOs are invited to submit a 4-page Expression of Interest (Eol), in Times Roman Font 12, 1.5-line space, providing the information below:

  • Description of the activity with objectives and beneficiaries by numbers, demographic, composition and location 
  • Evidence that the activity was approved previously but cancelled due to funding cuts
  • An updated 3 month work plan 
  • Mointoring and evaluation plan 
  • Budget with lines on personnel, direct, M&E, indirect 5%
  • Profile of the NGO with evidence of registration and information on updated CAC and tax compliance status
