This foundation was established in October 18, 1995 by Hidetaro Takase who was the chief executive officer of Takase Corporation. This foundation was authorized by the Ministry of Education on October 18, 1995 and then authorized by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan on April 1, 2011 and Shigeo Kaneko was elected as the representative director of the foundation.

The purpose of the foundation is to give a financial support to those foreign students studying in Japan at their own expenses having strong academic zeal and good scholastic record but sustaining difficulties in continuing the study due to financial reasons. The foundation hopes that its contribution by helping these students may serve to enrich human resources for strengthenig international exchange and friendship.

Application   The applications are accepted once annually from July to September through designated host institutions. Direct application is not accepted.

Eligibility Criteria

- Graduate school students who conduct research to contribute to international cooperation.

- Students who studying in degree programs in English.

- Short term students under an inter-university exchange agreement.

- All the above applicants must be non-Japanese nationals and must be those studying at their own expenses.

Offered Benefits

The foundation provide the scholarship grant of ï¿¥100,000 monthly for one year for 20 selected recipients.
