Are you a talented and ambitious citizen of South Africa and want to study for a master’s degree in Sweden on a fully-funded scholarship? If yes, then the Swedish Institute is offering grant scholarships to a large number of master’s programs starting in the autumn semester 2020.
These opportunities are available only citizens of South Africa are eligible for SISSA. It is intended for full-time one-year or two-year master’s programs and is only awarded for programs starting in the autumn semester.
SISS is the Swedish government’s international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders. It is funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden and administered by the Swedish Institute (SI).

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Countries: Citizens of South Africa applications are particularly welcome.
Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be awarded in any Master’s degree subjects offered by the university.

South Africa citizens are eligible to apply. The master’s studies must be eligible for SI scholarships.
Application Process
- How to Apply: After you have completed your application to the master’s program, you can apply for an SI scholarship. See more information about the required documents and forms
- Supporting Documents: Applicants will need to attach a copy of your passport in your application. Your personal data including name, citizenship, and photograph must be shown clearly.
- Language Requirements: In order to be eligible for university studies in Sweden, applicants must demonstrate that they meet the English requirement for the course or program they wish to apply for.
Benefits: The scholarship covers Tuition fee, Living expenses of SEK 10,000/month, Travel grant of SEK 15,000. The travel grant is a one-time payment for the entire scholarship period.
