Swansea University and the University of Edinburgh are pleased to announce a fully funded PhD scholarship in Lattice Field Theory, focusing on extensions of the Standard Model. This prestigious joint program offers candidates the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, provides an annual stipend of £19,237, and additional research expenses up to £1,000 per year.

The scholarship is open to candidates of any nationality who hold a UK bachelor’s degree with at least Upper Second Class honors or an equivalent overseas qualification. Alternatively, candidates with a master’s degree with a minimum overall grade at ‘Merit’ are also eligible.Swansea University is a prominent public research institution founded in 1920.   • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science
  • Admissible Criteria:
    • Candidates must hold a UK bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Upper Second Class honors or an equivalent overseas degree.
    • Alternatively, a master’s degree with a minimum overall grade at ‘Merit’ or its non-UK equivalent.
    • English Language Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 overall (with no individual component below 6.0) or a recognized equivalent by Swansea University.
    • Some applicants may require ATAS clearance as per the UK Government’s guidelines.

    • Select ‘No’ for ‘Are you funding your studies yourself?’
    • Enter ‘RS672 – Lattice Field’ for ‘Name of Individual or organization providing funds for study.’
  4. Submit Required Documents:
    • CV
    • Degree certificates and transcripts (screenshots acceptable if currently studying)
    • Cover letter with a ‘Supplementary Personal Statement’
    • Two references on headed paper or Swansea University reference form
    • Evidence of English Language proficiency (if applicable)
    • Copy of UK resident visa (if applicable)
