Sussex GREAT Scholarship – Ghana at University of Sussex, UK for Master Established in 1961, University of Sussex is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Brighton (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Sussex is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Sussex offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Ghana
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for master studies in any subject offered by the university, but priority will be given to those who have accepted an offer to study in the School of Law, Politics, and Sociology.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Applicants must be a citizen of Ghana
  • Applicants must have accepted an offer on an eligible master’s at Sussex. Priority will be given to those who have accepted an offer to study in the School of Law, Politics, and Sociology.
  • Applicants must have excellent grades.
  • Applicants must have clear and specific goals with defined links to their course.
  • Applicants must be prepared to attend networking events as part of the GREAT scholarships program, sharing their experiences and ambitions on how you and your home country can benefit from your UK study.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To be considered for the Sussex – GREAT Scholarship (Ghana), applicants need to have received and accepted an offer of a place on an eligible Master’s degree program at Sussex. Most applications for master’s courses are made directly to Sussex through the  postgraduate application system.
  • To apply for the scholarship, applicants will be required to provide a statement of academic interest. Applicants should include information about the following:
  • Their drive and ambition
  • Their potential for positive impact when they return to their home country
  • Any relevant work experience, skills, or extra-curricular activity that relate to their ambitions and/or chosen course
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must provide all the following documents to support their application:
  • Provide a statement of academic interests
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants need to meet the general entry requirements: at least an upper second-class (2:1) or lower second-class (2:2) undergraduate honors degree (or equivalent), depending on the course you are applying for.
  • Applicants will need to demonstrate excellent grades in their most recent qualification.
  • If applicants are international students, they may need to apply for a student visa to study in the UK. See visa information on the Student Hub.
  • Language Requirement: If applicants’ are international students, they must meet the English language requirements or successfully complete the  pre-sessional English course.
