he IHP performs research and development in the fields of silicon-based systems, highest-frequency integrated circuits, and technologies for wireless and broadband communication. The focus of research at the institute is oriented towards issues relevant for business, resulting in applications for telecommunications, semiconductor and automotive industries, aerospace, telemedicine, and automation technologies. The IHP is located in the Technology Park East Brandenburg in Frankfurt (Oder), in a building complex with ultra-modern facilities including a clean room with a full pilot line.

Student assistant (m/f) System design – Broadband communications

The research is focused on the design and simulation of digital signal processing algorithms, their implementation on FPGAs and firmware programming of embedded systems. The main topics are very high data rate communication systems and ultra-precise radio localization systems. You are welcome to ask for possibilities to do a bachelor or master thesis.

The IHP offers a challenging, multinational environment, with excellent career prospects. You will have the opportunity to establish an international reputation at the forefront of high tech. The position is limited to six months and will be filled as soon as possible.

Eligibility Criteria

The successful candidate (m/f)

  • studies Informatics, Technical Informatics or Electronic Engineering
  • has knowledge in digital signal processing and wireless data communication
  • has experience with Matlab, Simulink, digital design using VHDL and/or programming of embedded systems

Very good oral and written skills in German and English are mandatory.
