We offer two year master’s programs taught entirely in English:

Applied Economics
To study in these programs students need to have strong quantitative skills, solid mathematics background, be interested in finance and economics, and be willing to study in Moscow. Students who want to spend their second year in such universities as Erasmus, Lancaster School of Management, Sorbonne, Humboldt and University of Luxembourg are entitled to dual degrees upon successful completion of graduation requirements. Some students choose to spend a semester or year abroad, and HSE has about 200 destinations that students choose among.
Eligibility Criteria
To be admitted to the program, you must have a
high enough level of English to read international journals, textbooks and attend classes taught in English
some knowledge of macro- and microeconomics at the undergraduate level, as well as
mathematics for economists
We recommend that those interested in studying in our programme familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of finance with the help of the textbook Principles of Corporate Finance by Brealey and Myers.

Our graduates have gone on to jobs at companies, and they have been hired by World Bank, IMF, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, ING, J.P. Morgan, Accenture, Oliver Wyman, BCG, Roland Berger, ATKearney, KPMG, Russian Central Bank and Ministry of Economy, and an entire host of other companies and funds. They opened many successful startups in many business areas. About a hundred graduates continued to study to at PhD programs in top universities, with more than 50 graduates admitted in the last two years. Even more graduates of bachelor programs continue their education at HSE master programs or abroad. Some of alumni now work at HSE as professors, TAs and staff.

Please submit a standard CV, including, at a minimum, your educational achievements, work and research experience, publications (if any), and language knowledge.
· Letter of motivation (300-500 words)
This letter should describe your reasons for applying to this programme, in the context of your long-term career goals and background.
· Scans of diplomas and academic transcripts
If you have not yet received your Bachelor’s diploma, please include an official copy of your most recent academic transcript.
· Two letters of recommendation (at least one from someone familiar with your academic work)
Please provide your recommenders with HSE’s letter of recommendation guidelines.
· Tests
Test Requirement :
GMAT or GRE general test will significantly boost your portfolio for admission and chances to get a scholarship. Eligible applicants will have subscore 3 and higher in GRE Revised General test Academic Writing part.
English Language Requirement [TOEFL/IELTS]:
TOEFL ibT - 60, pbT - 500; IELTS - 5
Native speakers or graduates from programs conducted in English are not required to take the English language proficiency test.
